Esther Chanda Mpoha is the Co-Founder & Group Chief Executive Officer of Savenda Management Services (SMS), a global supply chain and logistics solutions business established in 1997 with her husband Clever Mpoha.
Esther trained as an accountant, building her experience in finance at Kabwe Industrial Fabrics and later at Barloworld Lusaka. After formally leaving employment, she and her husband ventured into the world of entrepreneurship, trading in various products from fuel savers and radiation shields to Huawei mobile devices. Twenty plus years later, Esther’s enterprising spirit has seen her extend the group’s portfolio to property management, egg production and commercial fish farming and more.
Passionate about protecting and supporting women and the girl child, Esther is also the founder of the Hand of Hope Foundation – a Non-Governmental Organisation aimed at empowering these two historically vulnerable groups to become selfsufficient, equally regarded members of society. A champion for positive social impact and meaningful growth in communities, she is also a qualified counsellor, graduate of RHEMA ZAMBIA and Masters in Theology holder from the Harvest Institute. The latter of these achievements (a degree and masters in theology), arose from a firm belief in Christ and personal conviction that God was and is the chairman of the business – a founding pillar on which the couple drew the principle of making money while doing good.
